Daddy

"I'm your Daddy,
That's me!"
Daddy said,
As if he couldn't get it inside my head.
The walls went sky high.
I'm not listening to that lie.
He took away my toys.
He took away my boys.
He said he doesn't like them
but the problem stems,
back to him.
I'm not meant to be prim
and proper.
I'm judged and scrutinized
and it verifies what you think of me.
"I'm you Daddy,
say it back to me!"
"BASTARD!" I shout.
A foreshadow of what is to come about

  1. This made me chuckle. I get it now - You used, "Daddy said," because it's from the baby's POV even though it has temperament of a teenager, right? :D

I like that ending line, "A foreshadow of what is to come about" because we all know that that dad is about to go through hell.

    Another amazing poem, Charlotte!
