Peace. Forgotten for a time.
It takes a toll on the mind.
Flashbacks makes nerves raw.
Reliving every horror they saw.
Bodies blown to smithereens.
Soldiers coming home as men,
they left as teens.
Trenches dug in the ground.
Hiding with the slightest sound.
When will it all end?
Will we ever mend?
