This piece of flash fiction that I have written has been published in a collection of short stories. This was in 2011.
"Yo-ho-ho!" I shout as I swing from one boat to another. I grab my treasure and fight my opponents.
"Bye me hearties!" I yell. One swing later and i'm on my ship, treasure in hand.
"Timmy! Tea!" A voice cuts through my daydream.
"Coming!" I say and head inside.

Strokes On The Canvas - Flash Fiction
Hey all we did a bit of flash fiction in class. Here is mine.
Strokes On The Canvas:
The strokes on the canvas point the wrong way. Like they abnormal. They don't belong. She doesn't belong. Not in the painting anyway. A painting painted expertly in seconds. No wonder it's in a gallery. The contrast between the peaceful meadow and her terrified face. She yearns for company, but she doesn't get it. She only gets stared at. Poor, stupid girl.

Clever time
I tried finding words in words.
you wouldn't hear an 'er' from nerds.
You can't take something back,
when someone's taken aback.
writing music about something you've done?
Remember there is 'a band' in abandon.
You can't please all
by being completely moral.
You drop a bomb
on my aplomb.
There's no lows, you see,
in an apology.
There's no end,
if you can make amends.
A parent never sways,
from assuaging.

Does It Matter?
Mud.
Higher than their waists.
Bodies littered among the crud.
What a waste!
Clothes in tatters,
but does it matter?
Gasses leak
Stick arms too weak
to hold up a gun.
Mama, you just lost a son,
but does it matter?
Bombs sound.
Short legs pound the ground,
deciphering the maze in the trench.
A shower of shells drench,
those young minds below.
It forces them to scatter,
but does it matter?

Daddy
"I'm your Daddy,
That's me!"
Daddy said,
As if he couldn't get it inside my head.
The walls went sky high.
I'm not listening to that lie.
He took away my toys.
He took away my boys.
He said he doesn't like them
but the problem stems,
back to him.
I'm not meant to be prim
and proper.
I'm judged and scrutinized
and it verifies what you think of me.
"I'm you Daddy,
say it back to me!"
"BASTARD!" I shout.
A foreshadow of what is to come about

Baby. So Tragically.
Comments - criticism please!
Parents' nightmares.
So many scares.
A baby
So tragically,
Could no longer be
Purity.
These long days,
Love's an act on a stage,
setting many hearts ablaze.
Muted like the air.
Hearts begin to tear
No one can win, I swear.
This soul is drifting away.
No longer breaking,
like the day.
They need stronger hearts,
if they are going to part
with what was in,
Death's hands from the start.

Reading Journal
Since the last book recommendation I have read numerous books.
I have read:
Divergent (again) by Veronica Roth
Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Allegiant by Veronica Roth (If someone has read this and was astounded by its ending then I think we need to have a chat because I was mortified)
The Hunger Games (again) by Suzanne Collins
Catching fire (again) by Suzanne Collins
Mockingjay (Again!) by Suzanne Collins
Arousing Love (Can't remember the author)
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hossieni
The Woman In Black by Susan Hill
The Maze Runner by James Dashner
I guess i'm going to have to suggest reading the Divergent series.
A dystopian society set in futuristic Chicago. The city is separated into different factions:
Candor - The honest yet inconsiderate
Erudite - The intelligent yet vain.
Abnegation - The selfless yet stifling
Amity - The kind yet passive
Dauntless - The brave yet cruel.
However if you are Divergent, like Beatrice Prior, then you are in deep trouble. Divergence is seen by some as a gift, being resistant to serums may have something to do with this, but by others the Divergent are seen as a threat and a threat that must be extinguished.
